I don't go in much but I do order delivery frequently. I like that they offer gluten free options. They actually told me once they only use gluten free soy sauce, but I could be wrong, so better be safe and ask for it specifically if you need it GF.

Totally guilty of ordering the Pad Thai all the time! Although I do love the Zapp Noodle Soup too. It's kinda like a pho, but not really. Just has tasty broth with rice noodles. Good for when you're sick. The Pad Thai is good, although inconsistent at times with the amount of meat you order. I've ordered the chicken before and sometimes you get a lot and other times it's pretty skimpy.

I will say that in previous orders, they were always wrong. Like, always. The last couple times I've ordered they have been correct, thank god. But recently I've ordered edamame and they've come overcooked and pretty much inedible. Shriveled and cold isn't the way you want to eat them!

So glad they offer delivery though, it took a while for them to be on grubhub/Yelp, but they're there and I'm grateful!

So, the food is always great.  However, no matter which way we slice it, the service is fucking garbage.

We started dining in, and the service always feels slow, and you feel neglected.  I recall us once coming in, being helped by the woman in the beret to sit, and not being asked for drinks for 20 minutes.

Then we were like, alright, the dine-in service sucks.  We will just take out if we want good Thai food, and we will go to Mai Thai if we want good service.

(takeout) Then we ordered a panang curry, a pad Thai, and an order of spring rolls.  We picked these up and walked home and found there was no spring rolls in the bag.

We called back and they argued.  They said they remembered packing the spring rolls in.  But there were no spring rolls in the bag.  So they said they would credit us, which is shitty, but fine.

Then a few minutes later we got a call from (I assume) the manager, who said she watched the rolls packed in the bag.   She thought we had ordered summer rolls, which we also did not have

I told her we still did not have the spring or summer rolls.  She said she would credit us.  But holy shit is it annoying she called back to tell us that we were wrong despite us not having the fucking spring/summer rolls.

My favorite question to ask locals "what's your favorite Thai spot" most think I'm crazy... but it's important to know!

Ok so, atmosphere is nice and right along the main drag in Dormont (yes, where parking can stink) also, I love that this restaurant is BYOB.

Food however, not my favorite in Dormont (STILL GREAT, just not the BEST!) I've tried several items here and all of them just seem to fall a bit short of My Thai (sorry, it's my absolute favorite)

I'm always in search of good Thai and sometimes it can be hard to find because most places are all the same, just sort of mediocre. But I'm not really sure why it took me this long to find this place! My mom suggested it and we went on a random Thursday. The place had two tables taken when we walked in but the later the night went, the more people came. I can't lie, though, I was a little put off by the inside appearance at first but do not judge a book by its cover (or in this case, it's inside??).

Thai Spoon has all of the staples of a Thai restaurant- pad Thai, Thai basil, Tom yum/kha, drunken noodles, summer rolls, etc. I am also set on finding the best Tom Kha in the city and up until today I thought I had but nope, Thai Spoon hit it on the nose for me! It's my absolute favorite soup. So of course I ordered a cup and my mom ordered the summer rolls. Summer rolls were fresh and delicious. My soup was for sure the best I've had. Creamy and a bit sour, and lots of big mushrooms, chicken and cilantro. I'm NOT a mushroom lover - I'm a mushroom hater, but I will eat them in this soup because I love it that much, especially when they're in bigger cuts like this and not small and slimey. Also my soup was spice 2 because I don't like it too hot. Perfect spice level.

For our entrees my mom ordered the Thai basil chicken at a 7 and I ordered spicy fried rice at a 5. I could've went higher but wasn't sure how spicy they did their food. My mom's 7 wasn't bad at all, we even used their spice rack. If you love spicy food, you could definitely do their 10. The flavors of both dishes were spot on. Although they both could've done with a little more Thai basil, they were steaming hot and delicious. We both ate ALL of our food and had none for leftovers because it was honestly that good.

Lastly, the service was great. The people who work there are very kind and quick. Our drinks were always full and our table was always cleared when need be.

It's safe to say we will be back!

After reading a couple reviews, I wanted to give Thai spoon a shot. I usually order from My Thai, but I thought we'd try something new for dinner. You know the saying if it's not broke, don't fix it? That's how I feel about my situation. Totally regretted ordering from Thai spoon. I can only speak for the delivery as I have never been to the actual restaurant, but man was it disappointing. The delivery also took longer than expected. I got a notification that my order had been picked up and on its way, but it took 25 minutes to get to my house when i live just a few blocks over.
As for the food, thumbs down. I got the Tom yum and it was terrible. It tasted like hot sour water. I've had Tom yum many many other places so I can be certain it was not supposed to taste like that. I had to throw it away. My husband got one of the Curry's, which was supposed to have no peanuts, but did. He wasn't impressed with the flavor of it either.
Conclusion... would I order from here again? Probably not. I will stick with My Thai, which is excellent!
